Permanent Magnetic Generators or PMG's are becoming far more acceptable as a means to generate energy for your home. Just as solar energy was considered innovative just two decades ago, so PMG's are considered innovative now, but over the next five years it is estimated that they could easily become the most popular method of generating electricity for locations that do not have high levels of sunlight or wind.
What Is A PMG and How Does It Work?
\"Energy Efficiency\"
Permanent Magnetic Generators work on the same principles as normal generators in that they generate electricity through the spinning of a turbine. In wind energy generators, it is the wind which turns the turbine and with diesel or fuel, it is the combustion that facilitates the spinning of the turbine. With magnetic generators the placement of magnets that impose forces on each other result in that same spinning motion. Magnets are placed on and around the turbine itself. The repulsion and attraction of the magnets causes the turbine to spin and electricity is then generated. The advantage of generating energy through magnets is that these devices will operate for as long as the magnets remain polarized and does not require 'refuelling'.
How Much Money Will I Save?
Being able to generate clean energy for your home is a saving in itself, but financially these devices can save up to 100% of your electricity bill. A single device has been reported to save up to 60% and additional devices which can be easily tacked will reduce your bills even further. The real saving comes from having to ability to build your own devices. If you choose to buy a PMG, you may have to have it imported from Asia as the market for these devices in the West is very limited. Besides the shipping costs and import duties, the actual cost of a generator will set you back no less than 0.
Building your own will cost in the region of 0. You will not need to have any engineering experience as building a PMG is easy and all the components you will need to build it can be found at your local hardware store. They are safe to have in your home, although many people prefer to have them in the garage or in a low level outdoor shed. They are easy to maintain and once you have the ability to build your own, you may well consider building them for others and taking advantage of this growing industry.
